LCW Showdown at the Chase I Television Special Results 11.09.05

Showdown at the Chase (November 6, 2005) live from Chase Park-Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, MS.

Tonight’s special edition of “Showdown” is dedicated to the memory of St. Louis wrestling promoter, Sam Muchnick (1905-
1998) and his legendary wrestling program, “Wrestling at the Chase” (1959-1983).

LCW Television Champion Sgt. Slaughter (with Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) defeated Bob Backlund in 5:38 by submission
with the Camel Clutch. After the match, Slaughter continued to attack Backlund. The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff came out and joined Slaughter in attacking Backlund until Ricky Steamboat came out to save Backlund.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Ricky Steamboat and Bob Backlund who said they wanted the Axis of Evil in the ring next week on Showdown. Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie interrupted and said they would get the match, but it would be a handicap match. Steamboat and Backlund agreed to the stipulation.

The Funk Brothers defeated The Brisco Brothers in 4:24 by pinfall when Dory Funk Jr., pinned Jack Brisco with a small package after Terry Funk hit Brisco with his branding iron.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Wendi Richter about being announced as the number one contender for the LCW
Women’s Championship at LCW Unleashed on November 20, 2005. Richter said she was going to take the Women’s Championship from Nakano and was going to let her know how serious she was tonight.

LCW Women’s Champion Bull Nakano defeated Penny Banner in 1:13 by disqualification after Wendi Richter came out
and attacked Nakano. After the match, LCW security officials came out and separated Richter and Nakano.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Ric Flair and his manager J.J. Dillon about wrestling Kevin Von Erich tonight. Flair
said he had wrestled Von Erich before and he had beaten him before and he was going to do it again tonight. Mooney also asked about Lex Luger being kicked out of the Four Horsemen. Flair was going to answer the question, but Dillon stopped him and said, “Let me handle this, champ. As far as we’re concerned, Luger wasn’t Horsemen material. He shouldn’t take it personally. Most men aren’t Horsemen material. As far as we’re concerned, Luger is a non-issue.”

Kevin Von Erich defeated Ric Flair (with J.J. Dillon) in 5:40 by disqualification after Lex Luger interfered and attacked
Flair. After the match, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Barry Windham came out and attacked Luger until Sting came out with a steel chair and chased the Four Horsemen out of the ring to save Luger.

Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels defeated Rocky Johnson, Tony Atlas and Ahmed Johnson in 6:10 by
disqualification after Bret Hart interfered and hit Michaels with a steel chair. After the match, as Ahmed Johnson was making his way up the entrance ramp, Sgt. Slaughter came out and hit Johnson with a steel chair.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Harley Race about wrestling Dusty Rhodes in a steel cage next. Race said his feud
with Rhodes was legendary, but it would end tonight. Mooney asked how he could be so sure and Race said because he had an insurance policy that would guarantee a victory.

Harley Race defeated Dusty Rhodes in 8:03 by decision after leaving the steel cage through the cage door after Big Van Vader interfered and hit Rhodes with a steel chair while special guest referee Gene Kiniski was knocked out in a steel cage match. During the match, Rhodes and Race collided with Kiniski, knocking him out. When he regained consciouness, he saw Rhodes lying unconscious in the center of the ring and Race leaving the cage through the door.

King Kong Bundy (with Bobby Heenan) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan in 4:11 by pinfall after the Avalanche.

Ken Patera defeated The Missing Link (with Gary Hart) in 5:07 by disqualification after Gary Hart interfered and attacked Patera while Patera had Missing Link in the swinging full nelson. After the match, Patera put Gary Hart in the full nelson for a few seconds, but Missing Link attacked Patera from behind and he and Hart escaped the ring.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Bobby Heenan about the lack of his impact in LCW over the past few months. Heenan promised that while he only had King Kong Bundy, who was victorious over Hacksaw Jim Duggan earlier tonight, under contract, the Heenan Family would be regrouped over the coming months and would be stronger than ever. Heenan said tonight was only the beginning. Ken Patera then passed by them and Heenan followed after him trying to talk to him. At first, Patera didn’t seem interested, but eventually he stopped and talked to Heenan.

Superstar Billy Graham won a 20-man Sam Muchnick Memorial Battle Royal in 16:18 by last eliminating Nikita Koloff.
Also in the battle royal were: Billy Jack Haynes, Ivan Putski, Brutus Beefcake, Jimmy Snuka, Honky Tonk Man, Steve Williams, Barry Windham, Nikita Koloff, One Man Gang, Cowboy Bob Orton, Bam Bam Bigelow, Greg Valentine, Hillbilly Jim, Koko B. Ware, Paul Orndorff, George Steele, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, and Don Muraco. After the match, Superstar Billy Graham was presented with a trophy. Nikita Koloff attacked Graham and destroyed the trophy.
Order of Elimination:
- Koko B. Ware was eliminated by One Man Gang at 1:15 when Gang threw Ware over the top rope.
- Jimmy Snuka was eliminated by One Man Gang at 1:47 when Gang threw Snuka over the top rope.

- Rowdy Roddy Piper was eliminated by One Man Gang at 2:09 when Gang threw Piper over the top rope.

- One Man Gang was eliminated by Nikita Koloff at 2:18 when Koloff clotheslined Gang over the top rope.

- George Steele was eliminated by Superstar Billy Graham at 3:46 when Graham backdropped Steele over the top rope.
- Cowboy Bob Orton was eliminated by Billy Jack Haynes at 4:02 when Haynes threw Orton over the top rope.
- Honky Tonk Man was eliminated by Brutus Beefcake at 4:29 when Beefcake threw Honky Tonk over the top rope.
- Ivan Putski was eliminated by Don Muraco at 4:58 when Muraco threw Putski over the top rope.

- Bam Bam Bigelow was eliminated by Paul Orndorff at 5:24 when Orndorff accidentally clothesline Bigelow over the top rope while Bigelow was holding Hillbilly Jim so Orndorff could hit him.
- Paul Orndorff was eliminated by Bam Bam Bigelow, Steve Williams, and Don Muraco at 5:38 when Bigelow, Williams, and Muraco threw Orndorff over the top rope. After being eliminated, Bigelow reentered the ring and he, Williams, and Muraco, eliminated Orndorff. Bigelow and Orndorff then brawled up the entrance ramp as Albano followed after them trying unsuccessfully to separate them.
- Steve Williams was eliminated by Hillbilly Jim at 6:02 when Jim clotheslined Williams over the top rope.
- Hillbilly Jim was eliminated by Don Muraco at 6:08 when Muraco threw Jim over the top rope.
- Greg Valentine was eliminated by Nikita Koloff at 6:59 when Koloff threw Valentine over the top rope.

- Brutus Beefcake was eliminated by Barry Windham at 7:18 when Windham threw Beefcake over the top rope.
- Don Muraco was eliminated by Randy Savage at 8:40 when Savage hit Muraco with a running double axehandle that sent him over the top rope.
- Billy Jack Haynes was eliminated by Superstar Billy Graham at 9:27 when Graham threw Haynes over the top rope.
- Randy Savage was eliminated by Barry Windham at 10:34 when Windham backdropped Savage over the top rope.
- Barry Windham was eliminated by Nikita Koloff at 13:56 when Koloff clotheslined Windham over the top rope.
- Nikita Koloff was eliminated by Superstar Billy Graham at 16:18 when Koloff sent himself over the top rope while attemping the Russian Sickle clothesline which Graham moved out of the way of to avoid and which sent Koloff over the top rope. After the match, Superstar Billy Graham was presented with a trophy. Nikita Koloff attacked Graham and destroyed the trophy.

Ted DiBiase defeated LCW United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page in 12:13 by pinfall after DiBiase hit Page with brass knuckles handed to him by Virgil to win the LCW United States Championship. During the match, a brawl broke out between all the lumberjacks at ringside which momentarily distracted the referee and allowed Virgil to pass the brass knuckles to DiBiase. After the match, as DiBiase celebrated and his title victory was announced, the brawl continued outside the ring. Jake Roberts, one of the lumberjacks, left the brawl and got in the ring. When DiBiase turned around to see him in the ring, Roberts hit him with a short clothesline and then the DDT. Roberts also hit Virgil with the DDT before leaving the ring.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed Hulk Hogan who promised to regain the LCW Universal Championship and said he had a special surprise for Keiji Muto and the Yakuza Mafia. When Mooney asked about Jesse Ventura, Hogan said he didn’t know what Ventura was thinking, but if he wanted to mess with Hulkamania, he was going to find out where the power lies and the power would destroy him.

Jim Ross came out to guest host “The Brother Love Show” interview segment and said after bring attacked by The Undertaker on Showdown last week, Brother Love couldn’t he here tonight. Ross then introduced his guests, Rick Martel and Tito Santana. Martel and Santana said Strike Force was back and they were going to be better than ever. They warned all the tag teams in Legends Championship Wrestling that they had only one goal: to be LCW World Tag Team Champions. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard came out to the entrance stage and told Martel and Santana that Strike Force was going to have to go through them to get to The Steiner Brothers.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Steiner Brothers and LCW International Champion Big Van Vader defeated Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Kensuke Sasaki (with Genichiro Tenryu) in 9:02 by pinfall when Vader pinned Chono after a powerbomb. During the match, The Steiner Brothers and Tenzan and Sasaki brawled through the crowd and to the back as Chono and Vader continued wrestling in the ring until the pinfall.

Hulk Hogan defeated LCW Universal Champion Keiji Muto in 17:06 by pinfall when Hogan pinned Muto after the legdrop to win the LCW Universal Championship. During the match, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Kensuke Sasaki came out to interfered, but Antonio Inoki came out and sent them back to the locker room. Inoki then went down to the ring. Genichiro Tenryu was trying to get the referee’s attention, but Inoki pulled him down from the ring apron and threw him into the steel ring post. Muto stuck his head through the ropes to yell at Inoki and went to spit his green mist into Inoki’s eyes, but Inoki blocked the mist with his arm and hit Muto with a right hand punch. Muto went back into the ring where Hogan hit him with the big boot and the legdrop for the pinfall and the win. After the match, Hogan and Inoki celebrated the win. Jesse Ventura came out and stood in the entrance way and pointed at Hogan saying he was coming for Hogan. Hogan noticed Ventura and pointed at Muto who was being pulled out of the ring by Tenryu and said, “You’re next,” to Ventura.
