LCW Showdown at the Chase II Television Special Results 02.04.06

Showdown at the Chase II (February 4, 2006) live from the Chase-Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri.

Tonight’s special edition of “Showdown” is dedicated to the memory of St. Louis wrestling promoter, Sam Muchnick (1905-1998) and his legendary wrestling program, “Wrestling at the Chase” (1959-1983).

In the parking lot, Larry Matysik welcomed everyone to the Chase Park-Plaza Hotel and informed everyone that tonight the fate of Legends Championship Wrestling lay in the hands of Hulk Hogan again as he defends the LCW Universal Championship against Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr. in separate one on one matches. If Hogan loses either match, he not only loses the LCW Universal Championship for himself, but will also lose control of the company as Paul Heyman will become the sole Chairman of the Board of Legends Championship Wrestling and Christian Calaway will have to leave the company. A limousine arrived and Christian Calaway got out with LCW Universal Champion Hulk Hogan. Matysik asked Hogan about his chances and Hogan said he wasn’t going to let Calaway down.

Cactus Jack defeated LCW International Champion Nikita Koloff by disqualification in 12:37 after the masked man who attacked him at LCW Ascension came through the crowd, interfered, and attacked him again. The masked man then escaped through the crowd just as security rushed into the ring to grab him. Cactus Jack hit Koloff with the double arm DDT and attempted a pinfall, but the referee told him Koloff had won the match by disqualification. Jack then hit the referee with the double arm DDT.

In the back, legendary St. Louis announcer Larry Matysik interviewed LCW Co-Chairman of the Board Paul Heyman who said Calaway was going to be disappointed when LCW Universal Champion Hulk Hogan loses not only the Universal Championship for himself tonight, but also when he loses control of the company for Calaway. Matysik asked Heyman what made him so sure Hogan was going to lose and Heyman said Hogan was taking on not one, but two legends tonight. Heyman then looked at Matysik and said, “Who the hell are you anyway?”

LCW United States Champion Ricky Steamboat defeated Raven (with Paul Heyman) in 5:23 by pinfall after the Honky Tonk Man, with Jimmy Hart, interfered and accidentally hit Raven with his guitar while Raven was holding Steamboat in position for the guitar shot.

In the back, Don Muraco, with Capt. Lou Albano, attacked Bob Backlund and threw him head first into the locker room wall. As medical officials rushed in and checked on Backlund, who was busted wide open and bleeding, security officials and Albano pulled Muraco away. LCW Co-Chairman of the Board Paul Heyman came into the locker room and looked at Backlund and said he was not going to be able to compete in the four corners elimination match for the LCW Heritage Championship later tonight so it was going to be a triple threat match. LCW Co-Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway came into the locker room and said the match was still going to happen and Don Muraco was going to take his place. As Calaway left the room, Heyman demanded security release Muraco immediately. As Heyman, Albano, and Muraco walked away, Heyman put his arm over Muraco and Albano’s shoulders and said, “See, I told you guys it would work.” Muraco, Albano, and Heyman laughed as they walked away.

The Undertaker (with Paul Bearer) defeated The Sandman (with Paul Heyman) in 1:07 by pinfall after the Tombstone piledriver. Before the match, LCW Co-Chairman of the Board Paul Heyman came out with The Sandman and challenged LCW Co-Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway to bring out someone to take on the hardcore legend. Calaway appeared on the LegendsTron and said, “Heyman…Rest In Peace.” The Undertaker’s entrance music began to play and he made his way to the ring. During the start of the match, The Sandman assaulted The Undertaker with his Singapore cane, but during one of the hits, The Undertaker grabbed the cane and broke it in half. The Undertaker hit Sandman with the chokeslam and the Tombstone piledriver for the pinfall and the win.

In the back, Larry Matysik approached Superstar Billy Graham for an interview, but at first Graham ignored his questions. Matysik said Graham was more focused then he had ever seen him before. Graham got in Matysik’s face and said, “Larry, there’s only three things you need to know. One, I’m going to put Sammartino out of his misery once and for all. Two, I’m going to put that fat cow Dusty Rhodes out to pasture. And three, Don Muraco may think he was pretty smart by getting himself into this match, but he needs to know that that title belongs to one man, Superstar Billy Graham, and if he gets in my way, I’ll take him out as well.”

LCW Television Champion Magnum T.A. defeated Bam Bam Bigelow (with Capt. Lou Albano) in 8:12 by pinfall after a belly-to-belly suplex from the top rope. After the match, Bad News Brown tried to come through the crowd and attack Magnum T.A., but he was stopped by security.

In the back, Larry Matysik approached LCW Universal Champion Hulk Hogan who was getting ready for his first match of the night. Hogan said Dory Funk, Jr., was going to regret forgetting that he was a respected legend and deciding to become extreme. Heyman approached them and asked Hogan what he was doing. Hogan said he was getting ready for his first match tonight against Dory Funk, Jr. Heyman said he wasn’t sure if Hogan understood, but he was going to face both men back to back, in a row, one after the other. LCW Co-Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway approached them and asked Heyman what the hell he was trying to pull. Heyman said that was the deal, but if Calaway didn’t want to do it, Hogan could forfeit the match and Heyman would become the sole Chairman of the Board. Hogan told Calaway it was all right and that he would take care of business.
